100% White Whole Wheat Challah
for bread machines
Ingredients
1 cup warm water (about 105°F. )
1 tbsp dried mashed potato flakes (optional)
1 tsp. salt
2 large eggs
1/3 cup canola oil
1/3 cup cup honey
1 tsp. salt
1 tbsp gluten
1 tbsp. yeast
1 tbsp ground flaxseed (optional)
4 cups white whole wheat flour (add the gluten, yeast and flaxseed to bottom of measuring cup before adding flour)
Directions
Add the ingredients in the order listed to the bread machine bowl
Set to dough cycle if you want to braid it into challahs.
Different flours have different amounts of moisture, so check on the machine and add some flour if needed to make a ball.
Makes 2 challahs and 2 rolls.
After the machine is finished you braid the challahs and let rise.
Bake 330°F. for 30 minutes.
