March 26, 2019 Kosher Check:
Further to many phone calls and emails we have received from the Jewish Community, this is to confirm that the following Kosher Check certified products, sold under the Trader Joe's label bearing the BCK Symbol (our former Kosher Symbol, still in use by some companies) are acceptable for use on Pesach if purchased prior to the holiday.
March 24, 2019 from the editor:
Shoppers should check each package in the Passover section of the store for the proper Passover certification. Identically packaged products with and without Passover certifcation are occationally placed mistakenly together. Now there are many products containing kitniot now on the Passover shelves, so Ashkenazi consumers need to check package carefully for the "Ochlei kitniot" designation.
February 24, 2019 from the OU and the Star-K:
February 22, 2019 from Kosher Check (formerly BCK):
A change from last year:
Trader Joes Organic (canned) Coconut Milk is NOT usable for Passover.
January 31, 2019 from Kashrut Maguen David Mexico:
Ya tenemos a la venta arroz de la marca El Mexicano para Pesaj de venta en Super Emet y Tiendas de Autoservicio.
Translation by Google translate:
We already have rice for the El Mexicano brand for Pesach sale in Super Emet and Self-service Stores.
THE ALERTS THAT ARE BELOW THIS ARE FROM PASSOVER 2018. SOME OF THESE PRODUCTS MIGHT BE AROUND DUE TO A LONG SHELF LIFE OR THE PROBLEMS INVOLVED ARE STILL RELEVENT.
April 3, 2018 - from OU:
Dannon has produced some varieties of yogurt certified for Passover when bearing the OUDP symbol. Some 4-packs of yogurt contain a combination of year round OUD (Not Kosher for Passover) yogurts and OUDP (Kosher for Passover) yogurts. Consumers are advised to only use the OUDP yogurts for Passover. The Not Kosher for Passover yogurts do not contain actual chometz, however, we are still advising to set them aside for use after Passover.
March 27, 2018, - from the Scroll K:
East Side Kosher Deli Broccoli Kugel from its Kosher for Passover menu inadvertently contains kitniyos. (Item may be returned to store for a full refund.)
March 27, 2018, - from the MK:
PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING CORRECTION IN OUR PASSOVER GUIDE:
FISH: Only fresh fish do not require a special Pesach Hechsher. Canned and Processed Fish are only acceptable with special Pesach Hechsher.
Salmon and Tuna are listed separately and require Hashgacha when canned or processed. The listing on canned and processed fish is an unfortunate error. Only fresh fish can be consumed for Pesach without a Hechsher.
March 27, 2018, - Kosher Miami:
It has come to the attention of Kosher Miami that Coca Cola Zero in black 330 ml cans from Israel are NOT kosher for Passover, even though they have been sold in stores together with the kosher for Passover Coca Cola products.
The distributor of this product has apologized for this error, and the stores are being alerted to this error.
