March 21, 2023 from the COR Detroit and April 1, 2024 at COR Detroit:
MANISCHEWITZ WINES are made in both year round and Pesach versions. The year-round version bears a plain OU and states “Not for Passover use”. The Pesach version bears OU-P. Stores often have a mixture of the two versions on the shelf, even of the same variety. Check each bottle carefully.
Israeli alert that an importer put an incorrect Pesach lable on non-Pesach certified wine.
March 15, 2021 from the Dallas Vaad:
LIQUOR: All liquors and liqueurs require kosher for Passover certification, including Manischewitz.
WINE: Examine wines carefully! Some of them, while kosher, might NOT be kosher for Passover because of added corn syrup or sweeteners. To fulfill the mitzvah of 4 cups of wine make sure the product is truly grape wine (Hagafen) and not berry wine (Shehakol).
April 10, 2019 Kosher Check:
Please be aware that the Manischewitz Concord Wine available at local BC Liquor stores is not certified Kosher for Passover.
Manischewitz makes wine special for Pesach with an OU-P on the label and their year-round label states "not for Passover use" as it contains Kitniyot.
