Israeli produce Information & alert

March 18, 2019 a repost from the OU in response to the editor's question:

Jaffa, AMC Israeli produce and Sweeties with or without an OU in North America have terumot and maasrot taken, however, only the products with the OU symbol are certified by the OU.

Janary 6, 2019 a repost from the kosher Costco Facebook group that some peppers at Cosco are grown in Israel.

Janary 1, 2019 from the KVH:
KVH Kosher has confirmed numerous recent sightings of Israeli produce (peppers, carrots, etc.) being sold at local area supermarkets, including Hannaford’s, Russo’s, and Stop & Shop.
These items are subject to the laws of Terumos & Ma’asros (tithing).

December 16, 2018 from the COR Detroit:
BELL PEPPERS FROM ISRAEL (red, yellow and orange) are now being sold at many local stores (Meijer, Kroger, Trader Joe’s, Holiday Market, etc.) and require taking of Terumos and Maaseros. They include Sunset brand, Gilad, Arava, Field & Farm, Mor, NatureFresh Farms, Pero Family Farms, Mucci Farms, Glad and other brands of colored peppers, both regular and organic. Consumers should carefully check the fine print on the package, or the sticker on individual peppers sold loose, for the country of origin. The same brand may have some peppers from Israel and some from other countries, all in the same produce bin, so each package or pepper should be checked.
One should always be careful when buying produce to check the sticker, bag label or original case for the country of origin. Some additional examples of Israeli produce commonly found in the U.S. include tomatoes, carrots, citrus fruit (oranges, grapefruit, lemons, mandarins, clementines and pomelos), persimmons (“Sharon Fruit”), mangos, dates, dill and parsley.

October 14, 2018 from Mehadrin Kashrus:
Israeli Lemons have been spotted in supermarkets.

Lemons are coming in from Israel. Rabbi Avrohom Marmorstein reported that orchards are checked for Orlah, so one can buy these lemons and separate terumos and maaseros. The Israeli lemons and those from other countries May be sold from one display, so each lemon should be checked to see its country of origin.
